Meet Rod Bucton GPMTA Board Member
Rod has been part of our local community for a large part of his life. He was born locally, grew up in the area, moved away in 1990 and returned with his wife and daughters in 2014.
Rod sits on the board of Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association, which he has been part of for 2 years, is currently President of the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce and is a big supporter of Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Riders and Jolly Nose Mountain Bike Park.
Rod and his family have been part of the local business community for three generations starting with Wiggly Tail Pork Chop Shop in Laurieton and now Laurieton Industrial Park also in Laurieton.
We asked Rod what he loves the most about tourism in our region?
We have so many unique places to visit throughout the area so seeing more and more people visit our region to be able to experience and enjoy these as we do is very exciting. Our area has so many special things to offer.
What is Rods favourite tourism experience?
As a keen lover of the outdoors, it’s difficult to pick a favourite.
Rod regularly enjoys a surf paddle or swim at one of our many beautiful beaches or a mountain bike ride on one of the many trails at Jolly Nose Mountain Bike Park, near Bonny Hills.
