Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association (GPMTA) represents over 230 tourism related businesses and is your local peak industry tourism organisation.
Our Board is made up of a small yet passionate group of people who love what we do! We have all worked and invested in the local tourism industry for many years, and together we provide the knowledge and experience required to provide professional support services to our members, as well as actively engage with stakeholders to strengthen Greater Port Macquarie’s tourism brand appeal.
Importantly, the Board consists of representatives from the Port Macquarie, Camden Haven and Wauchope communities. We proudly embrace the interests and issues of all towns and villages in the Greater Port Macquarie area.
Amidst a stunning coastline of rocky headlands and neighbouring the banks of the Hastings River estuary is the vibrant and unspoilt town of Port Macquarie. Offering a distinctive mix of heritage buildings, modern hotels and apartments, diverse dining, shopping and entertainment venues, Port Macquarie has much to offer.
Wauchope is a natural wonderland with a diverse range of natural attractions and activities. Once a thriving timber town Wauchope offers a boutique shopping experience, food and wine to tease the taste buds and a passion for outdoor living set against the breathtaking backdrop of Bago Mountain.
The Camden Haven area on the NSW Mid North Coast offers a great range of accommodation from tent sites in our great holiday parks to luxury tree houses and B & Bs. There are also motels, self-catering apartments and holiday houses. The beautiful Camden Haven is located thirty minutes south of Port Macquarie and forty minutes north of Taree.
The Hastings Hinterland area offers the natural Australian landscape mixed with forests, rivers, waterfalls, rainforests, mountains are unique and wonderful. Visit family run farms scattered amongst the forest and Glamping, Camping , Horse Back riding, Country Fairs & Shows, so much to see and do in the Hastings Hinterland.
Our tourism industry has seen some challenges over the last few years; Fires, Floods, Pandemics shutdowns and travel & operational restrictions. Check our News & Update for the latest information and opportunities to keep your business moving forward.
