Rachael brings more than 15 years’ experience in construction administration, governance and community engagement, combined with a strong commitment to improving accessibility, inclusion and regional communities.

As a full-time wheelchair user following a spinal cord injury, Rachael is a passionate advocate for people with disability and works to promote accessible tourism, inclusive communities and equitable access to services and public spaces. A keen traveller, she has travelled extensively throughout Australia and overseas and brings valuable firsthand insight into the barriers and opportunities that exist within the tourism industry. She is passionate about helping position the Port Macquarie Hastings region as a destination that is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for visitors of all abilities.

Rachael serves on the Executive Committee of the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, the Enable Advisory Group, the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Laurieton and the Circular Hastings Group and is a member of the Sargood on Collaroy Community Advisory Group. She is also a Justice of the Peace and a freelance writer for News Of The Area, where she regularly writes about community initiatives, tourism, disability, accessibility and local issues.

Through her governance experience, strong community networks and communication skills, Rachael brings a collaborative approach and a passion for supporting initiatives that strengthen the visitor economy while ensuring the Port Macquarie Hastings region is recognised as an accessible destination for everyone.
